Amy Friedman Wilson, Pharm.D., is an
Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of the
Creighton University Center for Drug Information &
Evidence-Based Practice. Dr. Wilson graduated from Creighton
University with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed an
ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of
Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She has had extensive experience in
community and hospital practice, as well as managed care
operations. Prior to accepting a faculty position at Creighton
University in 2000, she was Clinical Services Manager for
Mutual of Omaha ‘s Healthcare Management Operation. In this
role she supported all areas of the Companies, including
underwriting, sales, marketing, and actuarial, with pharmacy
consultative services related to the prescription drug program.
In addition, she was responsible for oversight of all clinical
pharmacy services related to the prescription drug program,
including coordination of local, regional and national
committees for managing prescription utilization for more than 1
million prescription card holders. In her current position as
Director of the Center for Drug Information & Evidence-Based
Practice, she is responsible for oversight and coordination of
the Creighton-affiliated Drug Information Services, which
consists of four unique service locations and five full-time
faculty. She is also closely involved with consulting and
management of the University’s employee prescription drug
program. Dr. Wilson and her husband Andrew reside in Omaha with
their children Nicholas and Caroline. In her free time, she
enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, golf
and being a “soccer mom”. The family is passionate about
following Creighton Bluejay basketball.
